2024 Reagan Run 5K Scholarships Awarded
The Reagan Run 5K Committee recently offered six-(6) $500 Scholarships, three male and three female, for student athletes who were continuing their post-secondary education at a 2- year college, 4-year college/university or trade school. The scholarships were available to any Lee County high school students who had participated in any or all of the following activities: 1) high school cross country, 2) high school track or 3) have participated in one or more road races including a Reagan Run 5K.
The Reagan Run Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the recipients of the six 2024 Reagan Run Scholarships: Jordyn Crawford, who will attend Illinois State University, Keeley Mick, who plans to attend North Central College, Emily Smith, who plans to attend Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Mason Weigle, who plans to attend Wisconsin Lutheran University, Tyler Herwig, who will either attend the University of Iowa or the University of Missouri and Samuel Zimmerman, who also plans to attend Illinois State University.
The Reagan Run 5K Committee was able to make these scholarships available primarily due to the enormous support of its sponsors as well as the tremendous buy-in by the community and the multitude of participants who have enjoyed the event over the previous 23 races.
