Reagan Run 5K Scholarships Awarded
The Reagan Run 5K Committee recently offered six-(6) $500 Scholarships, three male and three female, for student athletes who were continuing their post-secondary education at a 2-year college, 4-year college/university or trade school. The scholarships were available to any Lee County high school students who had participated in any or all of the following activities: 1) high school cross country, 2) high school track or 3) have participated in one or more road races including a Reagan Run 5K.
The Reagan Run Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the recipients of the six 2026 Reagan Run Scholarships: Kate Boss, who will attend University of Illinois
Urbana/Champaign, Olivia Arduini, who will attend University of Northern Iowa, Daniela Lovett, who will attend University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign, Keegan Shirley, who will attend Colorado Christian University, Owen Belzer, who will attend University of Illinois Springfield, and Noah Terviel, who will attend Sauk Valley College.
The Reagan Run 5K Committee was able to make these scholarships available primarily due to the enormous support of its sponsors as well as the tremendous buy-in by the community and the multitude of participants who have enjoyed the event over the previous 25 races. A total of 59 graduating seniors have been awarded a total of $30,000 since 2015 as a result of this wonderful tradition.
